  1. M&S plastic bags

Within the last 20 minutes I purchased two lovely pairs of shoes from M&S, Kew. The lady serving me was delightful and had no problem with my declining her offer of a plastic bag. Upon leaving the retail park and entering Mortlake Road - where I live - I was stopped by M&S security, who demanded to see my reciept. This much was understandable upon his part, but I did not expect the following instruction "you MUST use a M&S plastic bag!" I asked if he was aware of his employer's no plastic bag policy and he said "That only applies to food. For everything else you MUST use a plastic bag." I told him I refuse to do so, it is not nesersary and "I only live there" (pointing at my house opposite. There bags may be green but not always there attitude.

  2. Richmond & Twickenham Times lack of coverage

Richmond & Twickenham Times no longer has a finger on the pulse about important things that are happening in their area. I have just purchased today's edition and can find no mention of the Greener Kew campaign.Well done everyone. I am amazed that all Kew traders (with two exceptions) have signed up to this wonderful initiative.

  3. Let us know if you have something to say about reducing plastic bag use in Kew.

Making Kew greener ...
